Silver Fern Hinged Cuff

A Silver Fern Hinged Cuff cast in silver and completed by hand in our Ditchling workshops. Sapphires are set into the “dew drops”. This bespoke design was developed for a client using Rhino 6. We are increasingly using CAD (Computer Aided design) To solve specific design and making challenges that cannot successfully be carried out by making by hand on the bench. This is ideal for model making. It allows us to refine the design time and again without wasting valuable precious metals during the process. Plastic printouts can be used to get a final impression of the piece. This is very useful if you are unsure of the items you are commissioning. We sometimes will use this process even when the final piece is to be made completely by hand with no casting involved.
