Eternity RingsOur Inverse spiky eternity ring is a ring that can fit with slightly unusual engagement rings so is an ideal choice if you have a large diamond, or a wishbone shaped ring. We design and make a couple of different styles of eternity ring in this shape purely for this reason. Some diamonds in engagement rings are just too big to sit comfortably with a plain wedding band so this shape of ring really streamlines the look!

At Pruden and Smith jewellers we create, design and handmake many different designs of jewellery. One of the most popular choices of jewellery are our quite spectacular display of platinum eternity rings. Diamond Solitaire Rings

Where do we start…when it comes to diamond solitaire rings, you really cannot choose a more classic style for your engagement ring. The designs are endless, but the fact that you have chosen a solitaire diamond shows class, style and a desire to hold something close to your heart that is traditional and timeless.

Here are a few well chosen designs we have in our solitaire diamond range. Some are real classics and some are a slight twist on the classic idea.

The first solitaire diamond ring we would like to tell you about has diamond pavé set shoulders. It really is a stunner and has such a classic look. This is a very popular choice of solitaire diamond but we can exchange the stone if you prefer. This ring has been made in platinum but we can also make it in other precious metals if you would prefer.

One of our favourites is the Korloff cut crossover diamond solitaire ring. It has really clean lines and the diamond looks really beautiful in this setting. Like our other diamond solitaire rings, this can be designed using a metal other than platinum and also with other precious stones.

The classic Princess cut diamond solitaire ring is a beautiful timeless piece that will sit right with a classic wedding ring. It just has that feminine and delicate look that really complements other jewellery. This is a very popular choice with many of our clients.

Right at the end we would like to throw in a curveball… what about the absolutely stunning Diamond swirl solitaire ring? This is a really unusual style and will sit really well with the wishbone wedding ring as seen with our outwards spiky engagement ring. What a talking piece…a really quite classic diamond fitted into a platinum ring that will be just that little bit different to the classic solitaire diamond ring – a real winner!

Men’s Wedding Rings

These days, men’s wedding rings do not have to be just the classic gold wedding band. Of course this is something we design and sell, but we also pride ourselves in creating some rather sleek and stylish designs as well, if the men who visit us would like to choose a wedding ring that is a little different. As the norm is that men do not have an engagement ring, (but we do actually have some rather lovely designs that men are now going for) many of our discerning clients will now choose a wedding ring that sits really well alone on a finger and just looks great!

Our Oxidised Silver And Diamond Band is one of our longest standing wedding rings for men as it is chunky, stylish and looks really original. This is a silver band and holds many baguette diamonds, making it just that little bit special and looks great being slipped on your finger on your wedding day.

Or how about one of our Turned Flat Wedding Rings? They are a take on the classic wedding band for men but look just a little different. They have a bevelled edge and can be made in platinum or gold. A wonderfully stylish choice and always really popular as a wedding band for a man.

Our Side hammered rings are another perfect choice for a man’s wedding ring – chunky but not too much, super stylish and very current. It is a wonderful design and can be made in either white gold or platinum. This is one of many choices of wedding ring for men and having a glossy look will really stand out on your wedding finger.

The Turned Stripe Ring is another real favourite. It can be made in pretty much any precious metal you choose and can also be in two widths. So if you would like a pair of matching wedding rings but the engaged couple want different sizings then this is an ideal choice. A sophisticated ring that will last a lifetime!

How to choose from different cuts of diamonds

The choice of diamond cut is often decided by the original shape of the rough stone, location of internal flaws or inclusions, the preservation of carat weight, and popularity of certain shapes among consumers.
The cutter must consider each of these variables before proceeding.

Having said that, the vast majority of stones used in jewellery these days are

Round brilliant cuts:

Outwards Spiky Engagement and Wishbone Wedding Ring SetThis is because of a formula developed at the beginning of the twentieth century designed to maximise the reflectivity of diamond. There will always be some variation, but the same basic proportions are maintained to give the stone maximum ‘sparkle’
Then there are fancy cuts, perhaps not quite so bright but fulfilling many design directions.
